Set in the Charnwood National Forrest this former priory required a fully accessible swimming pool with changing and cardio gym facilities. To meet the exacting design standards in this area of outstanding beauty it was felt that the new building should harmonise closely with the existing priory. Working with traditional timber frame construction and random stone walls the detailing reflected the use of brickwork quoins and slate roofs prevalent on the original buildings.

Key elements of the construction, including the timber frame and swimming pool packages were tendered at an early stage to establish costs and reduce the construction programme.
